HEALTH GUARANTEE/PURCHASE CONTRACT
The seller guarantees the puppy for a period of 2 years from date of purchase for life threatening genetic disorders. If the puppy were found to have a congenital defect, the seller would replace the puppy with one of equal value, when available; upon the return of the puppy and the registration papers at the buyer’s expense. The seller requires a written statement from the vet detailing the condition. If the buyer decides to keep the puppy, they will assume all future medical costs. Any vet bills incurred to diagnose or repair a problem will be the responsibility of the buyer unless other arrangements have been made or approved prior to the treatment.
The seller must be contacted immediately should the puppy become ill. The buyer agrees to get medical attention for the puppy by a licensed Veterinarian in the event of illness. The buyer also agrees to keep the pup current on all vaccinations and worm treatments. I recommend your puppy be put on a heartworm preventative between 4 and 6 months of age.
The seller does not guarantee against conditions that may be triggered by stress related from the move to a new home or by the shipping process. This would include Coccidia, Giardia, Kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection as these are unpredictable in nature. You will receive an instruction sheet on how to care for your puppy and this will give details on these conditions. It will also give directions on how to treat the puppy until you can get them to your vet.
The buyer understands that the puppy being purchased has been seen by the breeder’s veterinarian and fully checked before being allowed to leave. If a minor problem is found, it will be discussed with you before you buy/receive the puppy. You will have the option of continuing the purchase of this puppy or declining.
If at any time in the life of the puppy/dog concerned in this contract, the buyer is unable to keep the dog; the seller will accept the dog back and find a suitable home for him/her. No exchange of money or replacement is offered in this circumstance.
This puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale. Buyer agrees to take puppy to a licensed vet within 72 hours of leaving seller’s possession for an examination to ensure puppy is in good health at time of delivery. Seller is to be sent a copy of the Veterinarians examination. If a Vet does not see the puppy within 72 hours, this contract is void and null.
